Just this week our school's Intermediate athletes were given the oppurtunity to compete with the best of the best in the Eastern zone. We did exceptionally well to break three records and many more placings. We won all of the running relays and broke a record for one of them! This event that we were about to take part in was quite nerve racking yet exciting, our Yr 8 boys team had won the Eastern Zone title. And now they were headed for the Auckland Volleyball Championship next….

I was given the opportunity to go with them and film their matches. They always knew that this was not going to be easy, I mean of course it’s not! It was the Champions of Champions tournament! The boys were told that they needed to win at least two of their three pool games to make it into the semi final stages.

The team were determined to establish themselves as a real threat in this tournament in their first match, they had all the athletic skill and ability to go all the way, all they needed to do was use it. Really the key to volleyball is awareness and knowing what to do at the right time. In their first game they played with a lot of heart coming back from a 12 point deficit and only losing by six.

Though the score did not show their efforts their determination would show in their next game against the undefeated Block House Bay school. This game was do or die for the boys, if they lost it would be all over red rover. What made it quite emotional was that this would be the last time that the boys would be playing volleyball together as a school team.

I quickly ran to the corner of the huge court to get the camera out as I knew that the boys were ready to play this time round… The whistle went, there was a good passage of play going on between the two teams, the game was flowing quite well with both schools getting the ball over the net into their oppositions position.

The ball was then turned back into Point England’s territory and they were ready to counter the opponents front line defence. The ball went to the back line of attack with the game plan being to get it to the setter(Tamati) on the second hit. Raven set it up for Tamati, Tamati then gently layed up the ball for Ieremus to have a good shot at the ball. Ieremus leap up into the air like a Frog to a fly! WACK!!! The ball came flying to the ground like a meteorite crashing into Earth. One point to Point England! The team gained their confidence from that play, and from their nothing could stop them. The boys successfully kept their hopes alive winning comfortably by 8 points.

After the match boys sat down and talked about what they did well and what they could improve on, kind of like a PMI for Sports if you ask me! The team still needed to win this game to stay alive with the first game costing them dearly making them have to win all their other games. In this next game we found a team like us, 1 win 1 lost and they needed to win this game to stay alive. The boys were looking to carry their aggressive performance in their game earlier on. The game looked like it was slipping away from them at one point but inside they knew that they deserved to go through to the next stage. The boys did that and fought back from a a six point lead and one by 2 points.

The boys were pleased with their effort and went onto the next stage. Coming up against the fearsome Viscount school they were the underdogs. In the beginning of the battle they were leading by two points, but experience and composure for the Viscount side proved to strong for us with Viscount winning the game and going onto win the competition. The boys played to the very end and competed what was to be the last volleyball school team for them.

The boys did exceptionally well to get this far and I am very proud of them, and I'm sure that the school is and will be proud of them too! Well done boys……..

Space Objects Measurements..

I just witnessed one of the freakiest things I have ever seen. This term we are studying space and beyond, and just this morning we were looking at a clip of the scale of stars and planets. Watching the planets getting bigger through measurement. the planets got bigger and bigger...... Mercury,Mars,Venus,Earth, Neptune, Uranus. I was amazed by how big the planets of this universe really were. Then the Sun popped up my eyes widened. 1,392,000 Ks!!!

I read all of the facts about it, I was about to quit of the clip knowing that their was nothing bigger then the sun, and then I read this: But wait there’s more.... I couldn’t believe it! There was something bigger then the Sun! OMG I was quite scared and excited to find what was bigger then the this humongous the star! My eyes were about to pop out watching these massive stars go on and off the screen, Sirius, Vega, Pollux, Arcturus, Aldebaran, Rigel, and more...

I finally reached the biggest star, the VV Cephei. It has an enormous measurement of 2,644,800,000 KM as it’s diameter! This clip really got us thinking how tiny our home really is? It’s actually quite scary if you think about! But the main question is: Are there any life forms around the universe?

The most important game in New Zealand Rugby history was about to begin. The game that would really show who was the the real number one team in the world. The All blacks were in the final showdown with the very fortunate French side. The All Blacks were heavy favourites with undeafeated streak, while France had already lost two pool games against New Zealand and Tonga!

I was watching the event on tv. The atmosphere was huge! Even I was getting nervous just watching the crowd build! The crowd roared before and throughout the game. The game was about to begin. The two teams were about to jogg onto the field. They came onto the field and sang their national athems (I stood up and sang it too!). The All Blacks performed their fearsome haka and the match was about to begin.

France came out flying quickly getting the ball into their possesion. Suprisingly the French were not kicking the ball away as they normally did intheir recent games. Instead they were using the ball spreading it quickly around the park trying to counter the might of the All Blacks defence. France were on the front foot in the first 20 minutes, dominating the set pieces with strong scrums and decisive line outs.

The All Blacks needed to establish themselves as the dominate team in this game. So they capitilized on a chance close to the Frech try line with a beautiful set piece move ending up with the prop Tony Woodcock cashing in for the first points. This was a big kick coming up, Weepu was given several chances to take the lead for the All Blacks but was denied both times. This kick would give the All Blacks a bit of breathing space but unfortunately Piri Weepu failed to convert. They went to halftime with the lead being 5-0.

The All Blacks were struck with yet another injury to young gun Aaron Cruden forcing Stephen Donald to come on and make his debut in the World Cup! Fortunatley Donald stepped up to the challenge and converted what would be the winning penalty! I was ready to faint in the dying minutes of the game with the clock ticking and the French behind by 1 but having the ball inside the All Blacks half. I nervously watched on as the clock ticked....... YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The All Blacks were given a penalty, all they needed to do was win the line and hold onto the ball. YEEEEAAAAAAHHHHH!!!!!! THE PLAGUE IS FINALLY OVER!!!!!! 24 YEARS OF WAITING HAVE FINALLY COME TO AN END!!!!!!!!!

Auckland Rugby League Tournament

Just last week our school League team went down to Cornwall park to challenge for the best school in Auckland at Rugby League. I was very excited about this and couldn't wait to go. I was confident that our team could go all the way, we had the right mix of fitness, speed and strength.

We already knew that this tournament would be nowhere near easy for us. We would have to dig deep and give all of the matches our best effort. We were put into a tough pool, with the big guns and reigning champions De La Salle College, a big team in Wesley College and the unknown Rosmini College. We were in for a tough ride if we wanted to make the semi finals.

We played to our potential and won all three matches, we were quite excited to be in the Semis and were prepared to go one step further. We were up against a fast moving Kedgley Intermediate.
We were unfortunate to lose by a try in extra time. I was quite stunned by the result seeing as it was the last time that we would be playing together as brothers, other than that I had an awesome time competing against other school. I just can’t wait until next year...

Manu Samoa Did Us Proud

Though Samoa did not make the Quarter finals they did us proud by putting on a magnificent against the Mighty South Africans. They played with a lot of heart and dignity to keep the score board low. They showed that they should of had another chance by keeping the South Africans to one try.

The Samoans finished in 3rd place in pool D winning 2 games and losing 2. They were determined to make a statement that they were one of the better teams in the world. And though they didn't show it by making the qualifying, they showed with it by people wanting more of them in the World Cup. Congratulations for putting an enormous amount of effort into their performances. Our love and support will always be with you. MANU SAMOA!!!!

Aussie Rules

Willing to try out this sport that never heard about before, eager to learn and experience yet another opportunity that we were given. Room 21 were going to learn how to play Aussie Rules!

I had heard of this sport on tv before and have watched a few highlights from some of the games. It was quite entertaining to watch and when I heard that we would be learning how to play I was quite excited.

One of the things that we learnt from the instructors (Micheal and Lucy) was how to ruck the ball. I thought I knew what they were talking about but then my confidence went low after they told us what it was.We had to pair up with some one and then use another person to umpire the ruck.

The person who was umpiring the ruck would throw the ball up into the air and the other to people would compete for the ball by hitting it backwards. Moses and I were going to square off the ball Moses had an eye of a Tiger while I was almost closing my eyes with my eyes gleaming back at him. We gave each other a dirty look and crouched down hoping for the biggest possible leap.

Waiting for Zane to throw the ball into the air,.............swish, the grip of the ball left Zane's hand the ball went into the air. Our eyes bulged wide open waiting for the right moment, I knew I had the height advantage and leap at what I thought was the right moment. Moses leap at the exact same time, we jumped like frogs stretching our arms to our bodies maximum wage.....WACK!!! With all the power in my right arm I smacked the ball backwards into my possession. I had won the ruck and couldn't wait for the next turn!

Manu Samoa Keep Their Cup Dreams Alive......

A decisive victory today has given Samoa the points that they needed to stay in the competition. Samoa played a very structured game today using penalty's very wisely with Tusi Pisi and his super boot cashing in 15 points. The Samoans look the most likely to score the first try but struggled to present continuous plays by creating errors.

Thankfully Samoa were able to back up those mistakes with some very impressive defence by keeping them scoreless in the opening half and one try in the whole game. Samoa scored to deserved tries two star halfback Khan Fotuali'i and the hard man George Stowers. The Fijians were given opportunities but could not capitalise also making mistakes.

The cool thing was that when the gave was over the two teams came together kneeled down in a circle and prayed to God, that was the highlight of the game! Fiji showed good sportsmanship and finished off the game with a thoroughly deserved try. Samoa are still in second place now with ten points. They would be helped a lot if the Namibians could pull off a miracle against a determined Wales side. COME ON SAMOA!!!! (WARRIORS ARE AWESOME!!!!!!!!!)

Alesana Tuilagi is one of many feared Samoans, currently playing for Manu Samoa in this years World Cup. So far he has scored 3 trys from two games in the World Cup and will certainly be looking to add more to his tally. He is also my favourite Samoan because he is a man of God,he commonly after scoring trys does the sign of the crucifix on his chest and face which is a real inspiration to me. He is a beast of a man who tips the scale at 111kgs and plays in the position of Winger, (You don't usually see wingers his size!)

In the Sunday news it says that his diet when he was little was biscuits and Fanta. It wasn't surprising seeing how big he is. He currently plays for the Leicester Tigers who always do well in the English premiership competition. He is a superstar on YouTube, with most of his highlights showing him steamroll his opponents!

He is a cult hero for Manu Samoa and will need to shine for them if they want to have a decent shot at this years tournament. They need to beat Fiji to tomorrow to keep their hopes alive and well. Samoa are currently are in 2nd place in their pool and will need to stay in that position to keep their World Cup dreams alive.

Alesana Tuilagi has five other damaging brothers. They have all played at international and are probably the best sporting brothers around. To be honest I think that Samoa are good enough to make the semis if they play to their potential. With a mix of strength and skill they could possibly be major contenders. Samoa will play another Island in Fiji. This will a battle worth while, similar in the way with they play this should be a good match but I am hoping that Samoa can have the edge in this game.

I am hoping Samoa can leave a mark on this years World Cup. COME SAMMMOOOAAAA!!!!!!

Manu Samoa Off to an Impressive Start.....

As soon as the school bell rang I rang out to the street to quickly grab my bag and run, why you ask? Well Manu Samoa had already began their first match in the Rugby World Cup! The match began at 2:30. They were playing against Namibia, they were expected to win this game. I ran as fast as my legs could carry me, I just had to turn the corner and I would be at my house! I ran down the drive way and ran inside the door.

I found the TV was on, halftime had just begun. I looked at the score hoping that Samoa were doing well, YEEAAAHH!!! 25-0 was the score Samoa were in the lead. I sat down on the couch and watched the game.

Alesana Tuilagi the superstar winger for the Samoan side had scored two trys already, sprinting down the sideline for spectacular trys. At the moment Samoa were controlling the game with ease. With the forwards dominating the rucks and scrums which gave the backs plenty of opportunity's to create breaks out wide. The Namibians kept trying and were determined to put points on the board.

Samoa were set up in Namibia's half and were prepared to score yet again. The Samoans managed to cross the try line through Alesana Tuilagi. But the ref disagreed with the passage of play and called it a forward pass. The Samoans were frustrated with the call and struggled to complete phases with errors. But the Samoans were able to maintain pressure on the Africans and gained a penalty try by controlling the scrum and pushing the Namibians back several times. The score ended up being 49-12 to Samoa.

Samoa have made a fantastic debut in this years World Cup and will need to prove themselves
's as major contenders in this weeks match against the big hearted Wales side. This will be a fantastic match up with both teams urging to be i this years finals series. COME ON SAMOA!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I BELIEVE (Tigers Vs Warriors On Tonight!!!!!!)

Tigers VS Warriors...............

The game that I wanted to be the grand final is now being played this week in the semi finals of the NRL. The NRL finals series kicked off last week with the qualifying rounds with the West Tigers beating the Dragons in a spectacular encounter winning the match 21-12. The Warriors came up against the high flying Broncos. Sadly the Warriors were pummeled by the Broncos with the score ending up being 10-40. It was not an impressive start to the finals series, in fact that could have been the end of their campaign if other results were different!

In this collision of these two teams we find one team who are on a high after recording yet another win which made it nine consecutive vicotrys. While the other team are looking to get back on track after a heavy lost. Both teams have teams have players capable of winning the game just like that. With the Tigers being known for their offensive style of play spreading the ball from one end to another. While the Warriors have forwards who are capable of offloading the ball to create breaks and trys for their outside backs. And their outside backs are more then capable of creating havoc with the ball, trust me!

I want both teams to do well in this game but my heart is with the Tigers, but honestly I woudn't mind which team wins this game because I like both of these teams very much. Look for Benji to bring out the bag of tricks in this game as he will do everything and anything he can to get his team that one step closer to that premiership title. Also look out for the like of Shaun Johnson, James Maloney, Feleti Mateo and the big man himself Manu Vatuvei. All are very dangerous with the ball in hand.

This is sure to be a battle for the ages. COME ON TIGERS!

Tauranga Journey Of A life Time

Just wondering how to start this story, it is so hard to explain how I felt and how much I loved being there. Well I will start off, the greatest experience of my life began when I arrived in Tauranga on Monday last week. Why you asked? Well our school sevens team coach Ms. Va’afusuaga thought that we had enough talent and skills to head down to one of the most anticipated events for schools around New Zealand, the New Zealand Aims Games Competition.

The thing was that I was supposed to head down with the sevens team on Sunday, but I was sick so I had to head down the next day. I was happy to know that I managed to stay awake the whole ride down from Auckland to Tauranga. And seeing the boys again really got me happy again. When we arrived I saw a nice big Marae which we were going to sleep in for the week. We were offered nice cozy mattresses by the Marae which ensured we would fall into nice deep sleeps!
After unpacking my things we headed down to the fields to see what kind of fields we would be playing on. We looked around and then headed off to different club grounds and started training. We were pretty sharp with our game p,an and trained well. We covered what we wanted to and then headed back to the Marae. We then ha showers and relaxed for a while.

After a while we had a delicious dinner of roasted chicken with potato, kumara and vegetables. Everyone enjoyed the meal which was cooked by Miss V’s sister Annie who was helping us out when we were down there. After our lovely meal we relaxed in the Marae.

Moments later we were told we were going to be doing some group games and activities. So later on in the night we started our games and activities. We were asked to name our groups and my group called themselves, “The Wackers”. We had a lot of fun that night playing all sorts of funny outrageous games. We then were told to go bed we did and were cozy on our mattresses!

Do The Tigers Have What It Takes?

I haven’t done a post about my favourite team (The West Tigers) in quite a while, but in that while they have stormed their way into top 8 contention with four spectacular victories in a row against all high flying teams the Cowboys,the Sea Eagles, the Dragons and the Roosters. Throughout that period they have had few bumps with some minor injuries with key players missing out on the big games but thankfully they have shown that they have enough depth and faith in themselves to win those big games.

This week they have Penrith and I believe that if they win this game it will lead them to a hopeful top four spot since they will be playing teams at the bottom of the table including the Cronulla Sharks and the Gold Coast Titans. The Tigers have been putting in the extra effort in the few weeks. They have to be careful that they do not get anyone else injured for the up coming games because they are absolutely crucial to their outcome of this year.

Obviously the key players in Benji Marshall and Robbie Farah have to be performing at their best to keep themselves in contention as well as there young guns in Robert Lui and Tim Moltzen. Honestly I think the best place that they can finish at the moment is in 5th place. Because with the top four teams way ahead in points probably there only hope is to hop in front of the Dragons who are in 5th place.

Everyone knows what the Tigers can do, they are the most damaging attacking team in the NRL for goodness sake! They can score from anywhere on the field, they create something from nothing. They are the West Tigers.............

Cross Country Recount

Wow what a day, well you would have guessed by now that our school has finally had it’s annual Cross Country. It was one that I honestly would never forget. I didn’t think I would run the whole thing honestly, but my my goal was to run the whole way and I reached that goal. We ran 3.5 KM and found it very challenging.

When we were called up to get ready to run I was ready to go. I was pumped and couldn't wait to get started. I breathed as much air as I could right before the three words,”Ready, Get Set...Go!!! We were off. Everyone was careful and made sure they ran at the right pace with no one sprinting right at the beginning. After we had just run through the gate of our school grounds, we ran down to the far corner of our local reserve which is located right next to our school. I slowly worked my way past a few people and got closer to the top ten competitors. When I got to the far corner of the reserve we turned onto a path which lead us to a bush track. It was quite challenging to catch up to the top ten runners through the bush walk. The track was very difficult with a lot of steps and hills we had to run up.

When I had finally made it out of the bush track I had to run back to the school grounds. My lungs were about collapse but gladly I was about to run into the gate to finish the race. But sadly I was told to run around the reserve one more time. My lungs were about to snap by the time I started running around the reserve again. My heart struggled stress fully to gather oxygen into my body, my calves were aching and I was just about ready to collapse. When I was approximately 100 metres away from the finish line I was determined to finish strongly. I ran hard and I finally finished the race,”YEEAAAA!!!!!!!” I said in my head (Because I was so puffed I could’nt speak!). I walked over to the water fountain and had the longest drink ever. In the end I finished proudly in 6th place. I was happy that I made the top 10.

That was one of the most tiring moments in my life. Man, that’s what I call a Cross Country....`

Life Education 2011

Every year at Point England we have a special visitor and his name is Harold. He come to our school to teach us about very important periods in our life. He mostly talks to us about how important our body is and how we should use it. This year we are discussing a more serious matter,puberty.

When we sat down and got cozy we learnt that we were going through puberty right now. We learnt about how our body changes and how it could effect our behaviour and our attitude towards other people. We watched a few movies learning about people who took the wrong turn in life and ended up taking illegal drugs. I watched a young man who actually had a chance at making his Rugby and Rugby League big in his life but sadly took the wrong turn in life taking illegal drugs. And now he can’t even remember how he actually is. We learnt about how terrible drugs can be to the body. We also talked about how being kind to people you don’t usually talk to could change the whole outcome of their life.

Well after we left I learnt a very important lesson that I can take into my life. Never take my body for granted. Thankfully we still have two more lessons in the Life Education Caravan.

North VS South Region Of Origin Game 2

For the past few weeks I have been training for a team called the Auckland North U 13’s. We are playing a three match series against the South Auckland U 13’s. So far we have played 2 games, we won the first game 30-12, and just today we took the series out winning the match 38-4.

The field conditions were perfect not to hard and not to soft but the real problem for both sides was going to be the terrible wind. With the windy conditions going against the South boys North kicked off but soon recieved the ball back with the ball swaying and bouncing straight to the touch line. The South Aucklanders were able to hold us out early in the game. But when our monstrous forwards were able to get good quick balls while the South boys were still back peddaling caused by quick play the balls we managed to get on the score board first with a try. From this first try our forwards were able to get good with space to run which gave us good field possesion. So we ran out to a 12 point lead. Though the momentum had changed from a mistake in our own half with the South boys camping in our half ordering a try which was scored with some good quick hands out wide to score. The score was then 12 - 4 to North.

Dissappointed in our efforts to stop South from scoring we were able to get the ball back and our forwards to get us back out to a 12 point lead. The conversion succesful which meant that the score would 18-4. From that point on we dominated the game scoring try after try, the score ended up being 38-4. We were proud of our efforts and enjoyed the match. After the game I had a chat with some of my friends from the other team and had a good laugh. We are all looking forward to the last game. There is some talk that the last game will be played at Mt Smart Stadium!!! That would be a dream come true!

Manu Samoa shock the Wallabies

Not so long ago I was playing video games and then my dad frantically yelled,”Quickly change it to the news!”. I wondered what was the big news was pushing the numbers as fast as I could. Breaking News, “Manu Samoa are now celebrating their biggest victory in the modern era winning against the world No.2 in Rugby the Wallabies 23-32. Watching the highlights again I was stunned watching Samoa score tries which carried them to victory. Samoa scoring through beastly winger Tuilagi, Pesi,Thompson and Williams all tries that they worked hard for.

Australia will certainly be disappointed in their efforts especially if they have just started there preparation for the World Cup and the Tri Nations. With the Australian team the Queensland Reds coming off a Super 15 Grand Final win Australia would've’e been looking to carry that hype onto the footy field but were unfortunately outclassed by Samoa.

Samoans from all over the world are surely proud of their country are hoping they can have as much heart as they did today when they prepare for the big one (The Rugby World Cup). What a proud moment for Samoans around the world, Samoa making world history beating Australia for the first time ever. CONGRATULATIONS TO SAMOA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What is your issue in our school?
I believe that the problem in the school area (The Street) there are to many people running at times when we have to sit down. Enough of a problem to put up as a sign. I recommend that it will be a good idea if we put up a sign which would stop this hazard from happening.

Who does it affect? People walking by may get bumped.

Why is it happening in our school? To many people playing games while eating.

When does it happen? Mostly beggining of Morning Tea and lunch times.

Where is it happening? In the street mostly.

What needs to happen to prevent this issue? People constantly patrolling the area. As well as putting up signs to make people think before they do.

MY Term 2 Highlights

Man,what a term it’s been! I mean it’s been one of the hardest term’s I’ve gone through! There were so many trainings I had to attend for the schools sports teams, designing signs to go around our school, producing PENN and much more.

One of the many highlights for me this term was participating in the schools Rugby team. I really enjoy training with my mates and we are doing really well this year and are hoping that we can go all the way. So far we have won the Auckland East tournament and are heading into the Auckland champion of champions tournament this Wednesday! Another thing that was related to Rugby throughout the term was some of my friends and I making the Bill Mclaren East Auckland team. I have really enjoyed the trainings and cannot wait for the tournament to come up!

Being able to go to the annual ‘I am making movies 2’ awards at the Auckland Museum was another highlight, making the actual movie was a highlight but making the finals for best documentary is a true honour. It was a wonderful experience especially getting to listen to an awesome all men choir! They were outstanding and really set the night!

Although this term would be the term where I was challenged the most physically it was still an enjoyable one. It was an amazing experience for me, especially sports. It’s been a term that I will never forget when I go onto college.

Tamaki Tech:LAST DAY OF SCIENCE :(

The day that I don’t like at all in the week are the Mondays. The day when you feel the most tired,weary and well the day when you just don’t want to come back to school. But one thing that really makes me want to come to school on Mondays, is knowing that we have tech at Tamaki. The fact that we can learn about different things about technology every week is pretty cool right!

Sadly this was the last week that my group would be doing science for the year! Throughout the term we have participated in the coolest experiments ever. But the final experiment was also counted as an examination. This task was one of the easier experiments of the term. All we had to do was measure and record the temperature of the water every minute which is placed in a measuring cup, while being heated up by a Bunsen burner.

Though this sounds pretty easy we still enjoyed measuring and watching the temperature change over time. We still learnt a lot from it and were still into the activity. When we had to leave we were pretty sad that it was the last time we would be in science for the year. The teacher told us about how much he enjoyed teaching and talking to us about how cool science. I AM SERIOUS ABOUT TAKING SCIENCE AS A STUDY WHEN I GO TO COLLEGE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yesterday was a great oppurtunity, an oppurtunity to learn lot's of cool and awesome things about SCIENCE!!! Being able to watch people create fire right in front of you is surely fantastic for anyone to experience!!!

On this day Tamaki College were holding a spectacular Science Roadshow. Schools from around the community were able to watch,experience and certainly enjoy! My class were one of the last classes to visit the roadshow. We were seated in the schools auditorium and began to watch. In this session we are talking about temprature. A woman talked to us about how it can change and transform throughout time. Showing us cool experiments such as burning holes through thick pieces of steel and using the oxygen around us to create massive amounts of fire was certainly one of my highlights!

After giving us a cool presentation we were able to check out some cool exhibits and inventions. One of my favourite exhibits that I had a go with was an instrument called the therimin. When playing this instrument you have to use one hand to control the volume and the other hand to control the pitch of the sound. It was fascinatinating to play on and listen to such a wonderful instrument. Another one of the exhibit that I tried out was the metal detector. In this exhibit you were able to put a few metal spoons into a big sand pit and you were able to search for them with your metal detector. I had lots of fun while doing that activity as was enjoyable enough to be on the "Highlight List"!!!

After looking around and exploring some cool exhibits the presenters called us back in for another explanation.They told us about how amazing our body is. They told us about us humans sense of smell, our eye vision and how our ears work. One amazing fact that from the 2nd presentation was that our eyes actually pick the the images that we see up side down and our brain flips it back the right way up!

Being part of that experience was that experience made it one of the coolest experience made it one of the coolest experiences that I have had. will certainly consider taking science when I get to college!!!

Technology Argument Part 1

I think that Technology is one of the big things that make mankind so amazing! I mean just think what would the world be like if we didn’t have technology? Technology is a huge help in life giving man easier lives.

One of the many things that have improved through time that are technological inventions which clearly show how technology is helpful is the mobile phone. The mobile phone is literally “Mobile”, it’s better, faster and stronger. Used mostly to send messages to others with phones or to ring them. It helps people in so many ways, rather than having to travel to tell them a message or mailing the message to them you can easily text them (If you have enough credit!).

Back in the medieval days people were sent to give messages to others around the country. Back in those days messengers were mostly sent to tell the other countries and villages about upcoming wars, new inventions and competitions.

Another reason why the mobile is well used by people is listening to songs and tunes as well as recording videos and taking pictures and snap shots. You are able to also share songs,videos and pictures with others with a thing called “Blue Tooth”.

Another way technology has helped us throughout time is through travel which leads to the invention of the car. Being able to travel at the speed limit of around 100 km per hour on the motorway is obviously a huge help! Vehicles are compulsory to use for travelling, going out and, well just for anything! Most cars around the world can carry the average of 5 people. The age that you have to be these days to drive a car is 16.

Explaining these technology creations just shows what a help technology is these days, cars,tvs,phones. Having technology around us plays a big part in our lives and especially saves us.

Point England VS Ferguson Intermediate

State Of Origin Blues Summary

Yet another thrilling game that will go down in Origin history. The New South Wales go down yet again to a dominant Queensland side. The score ended up being 12-16 but the NSW have a lot of positives that they can take out of the game last night. There many brave players in the Blues team including the new comers in Josh Dugan, Akuila Uate, Mark Gasnier and Jamie Soward.

At the start of the game Queensland were dominating the Blues by making easy meters. Being allowed to make meters the Queenslanders scored an early and easy try through a clever kick for Jonathan Thurston to score a early try. For the rest of the half the Blues looked like they could scored with good surges down the left side, Panthers centre Micheal Jennings created a lot of havoc down the Queensland right side.

Newcomer Akuila “The Thriller” Uate had a magnificent game, though making one mistake he made good breaks and meters for his side. He played with a lot of spark and could of made the difference? Another star for the Blues that now one really noticed was hardworking second rower Greg Bird, behind the scenes he worked really hard, put on some good hits, some good runs and got through the line to set up a comeback try.

The halves from NSW I think were a bit quite both needed to get into the game a little more. Jamie Soward should of used more of kicks to keep Queensland in there own half so that they could get better ball possession. I think that if Soward had run the ball a few times that would have also made a difference to the outcome. Another thing what would surely have made New South was when after they had scored that marvellous try (Micheal Jennings) it was only the fourth tackle and they wanted to hold onto the ball and make more meters up the field but instead hooker Micheal Ennis kicked the ball right to Darius Boyd giving him good field position with nobody chasing thus giving Queensland a chance to get back into the game.

Let’s face it New South could of won what was one magnificent game. So if they could do that imagine that they will do at Sydney!!!! COME ON BLUES

State Of Origin: Live Build Up 9:46 PM

Oh yeah babe it's almost 10:00 and you know what that means!!! STATE OF ORIGIN BEGINS!!! This year the teams look as evenly matched as they will ever be with star young gun Josh Dugan going up against the deadly Billy Slater. Also in the halves in form Dragon Jamie Soward is going up against experienced and the ledgendary Darren Lockyer. These battles are mouth watering and will surely make this game a terrific match!!!

This year people including me have been more interested in the New South Wales build up. NSW have chosen As many people say ''The game is won through the forwards" they are probably right, both forward packs have work horses and meter eaters. But I think that if the Blues want to win game 1 of the series they will need to have good impact off the bench. If you look at the Queensland side they have named quite a tough team. So if they want to wear out Queensland they need to have a lot of fire power coming off the bench. They will also need big games from the speedy looking backline. New comers in Akuila "The Thriller" Uate has been fantastic this season for his NRL club as is looking to put his name down as one of the form backs in Origin on the wing. Another advantage for NSW is that there are many St George Dragons in this NSW backline. Mark Gasnier will be very big in the New Souths hope for a victory. His experience in Origin should be a big boost for the rookies in the side. Jamie Sowards kicking game will also be a big factor in this NSW side, for the Dragons his kicks are absolutely spectacular, deep and in space, just what the coach wants!!! Queensland will surely be watching Soward go himself they all know that he is very quick off the mark.

This is the class of the decade, LET"S GO THE BLUES!!!!!!!!!!

Immersion Topic Rotation: Mrs Nua

Just recently our teachers came up with a cool idea, to have a competition between classes, you gain points by..., well just being a good class!!! Unfortunately our class is at the bottom of the points table, and we are looking for ways to pick up on the points. We know the things that we are doing are not getting us far so we have some ideas. So far our class has only got 225 points.

We can score heaps of points in many different ways and we are positive that we can easily catch up to the rest of the classes. I recently scored our class some points by sitting up in assembly. That is an easy way to score points. I learnt that one of the easiest and biggest way to gain points is to enter the Lunch box heroes competition. If you win Lunch Box Heroes that is an easy 50 points for your class!!!

Another easy way to gain points is to sit down while eating at lunch time and interval, an easy 10 points everyday for your class. I could name about 20 more ways of getting points and it’s easy to back into contention for the big prize. Hopefully we will be able to pick on our listening skills and gain a lot more points!

Immersion Topic Rotation

For this term our theme is “Bigger, Better, Faster, Stronger”. In other words we are studying how technology has changed over the years. To help us out with what we have to learn, we have immersion classes. The first rotation activity our class did was “Creativity”. Ms Tito was the teacher for this activity so I was sure that this would be fun!

As part of our task we had to create a way of creating our name in anyway possible. The whole senior team could enter this competition and the prize would be to throw water balloons at your class, including the teacher!!! I looked around the classroom seeing many cool designs. I knew that this task was not going to be easy!

When I was thinking about some ideas I looked around the class room and saw people already starting! That showed me that I really needed to pick up before time ran out! I had an idea but it was quite complicated. In the end of the session I had just finished in time, I don’t think it was my best work that I have done but I just hope it would be good enough to be a contender at least.

At the end of the day I really enjoyed the activity and I would like to do it again!

Fulltime Update:The Kiwis errors made it to hard to gain victory, just being able to hold on in defence and then dropping the ball not giving them any chance to create any oppurtunities which lead to tries straight of the error!!! Try in the second half took away any chance of a Kiwi comeback. Injuries for both sides to Kiwi prop Sam Rapira who has broken his arm, likely to miss out on the Warriors game on Sunday against the Titans. For Australia star centre Greg Inglis went off the field with an injured leg, he did not return back into the game. FINAL SCORE 20-10 Australia. (Better Luck next Time Boys!!!)

Live Halftime Update:The Kiwis were very sloppy in the first half,conceding an early try from a miss calculation from fullback Lance Hohaia with the try going to Australian flyer:Billy Slater. The Kiwis were not looking like creating any opportunity in the first part of the half leading to errors causing a try to new comer Jharl Yow Yeh. The Kiwis were mostly stuck in their half for the whole half, luckily second rower Sam Thaiday dropped the ball to give the Kiwis a chance before the half ended. Luckily stronger Warrior busted through then giving rookie Matt Duffie his first try of his rep career.

Hopefully the Kiwis will be able to pick themselves up to scoop up yet another, but the Aussies are looking pretty sharp on defence. Can the Kiwis do it yet again????

The Kiwis: Can They Upset the Aussies Again???

The annual Anzac test is almost ready to get under way with the World Champions and the Four Nations champions, “The Kiwis” taking on a hungry Australian side. The Kiwis selection of players are more picked for defensive. I would also choose a defensive side with the Aussies choosing a very offensive team.

The Kiwis have chosen the likes of Simon Mannering, Sam Rapira and Ben Matulino all from the Warriors!!! The forwards for the Kiwis will be a big factor if the Kiwis want to win! Our forwards are one of the little ways that we can beat these very good Australians. We have chosen a variety of forwards, Sam Rapira, he is a very reliable forward who makes outstanding metres from his spectacular charges down the field. Fui Fui Moi Moi, he will also be another big factor in this Kiwi side. Stephan Kearny will surely use him properly as he can create big turning points for his side.
The Kiwis have also chosen a very fearsome back row. Jeremy Smith, Bronson Harrison and Adam Blair. All very well known players in the League world. But the one of the biggest factors would have to be have the current best player in the world playing in your team, Benji Marshall. He will be absolutely crucial to what will happen on the night. It’s a case of if he turns up on the night. I’m sure that he can lead our Kiwis to yet another victory. Let’s all support the boys as they bravely take on Australia in the Gold Coast. There playing this week on Friday. COME ON KIWIS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!(Tigers Have A Buy this week!)

Mount Wellington off to an Impressive Start!!!

Two weeks ago we played our very first game of the season, we played against Bay Roskill again (We played them in our pre season game) we won 38-6. This week we played a big team in the Richmond Bulldogs. Their forward pack were quite big, all close to hitting the 6 foot mark, maybe even 6 foot!!! On the day we both played gutsy footy, both sides leaving big gaps in the defence. In the end we beat Richmond 42-10, we managed to take control of the game and use the ball quite well. I put together a clip of the highlights from our team take a look.(I'm #13!!!)

Tigers Injury List Growing!!!!!!

It is going to be a hard for the Tigers to come out of this hole as they lost badly to a co-operating Roosters side. They are going up against an eager Rabbitohs side. The Rabbitohs will be looking to make it back to back wins after defeating a red hot Eagles team.

The good news is that the Tigers will have quality back rower Gareth Ellis back in the lineup. He plays a big part in the Tigers attack and is sure to give the Tigers the extra bit of force which would help them with the game.

Benji Marshall and Robbie Farah will need to step up again with the injury list playing a massive part in the Tigers performances in the on going weeks. These two should be the key if they want to win this week!!! The Tigers welcome back young rookies in Mitch Brown and Geoff Daniela, both have blinding space and are very skilled. COME ON TIGERS!!!!!!!!!!!

Mount Wellington U14's Season Under Way!!!

After weeks of training, my club team, Mt Wellington U14's league team had our first hit out against a willing Bay Roskill team, we went out to Block house bay and played tough footy, with our valuble forwards 'Wayjo' getting injured in the first minute and another hard working forward 'George' and myself both getting sent off because of bleeding noses. The team basiclly played with only 11 players for most of the game.

The opposition were quite big, but as part of playing league you got to think to yourself 'Size doesn't matter'. We managed to get their big men tired beating them 10-16. All of our team played quite well with good, tough defence it was a pretty good start to the season. Our first real game game for the season is this week so we'll prepare for it. We really enjoyed the game and can't wait for the season to get under way. (TIGERS WON!!!)

CAMP T.C REFLECT!!!!!

Yet another memorable time for the students of Point England, we have just finished our annual Year 7 & 8 camp. We had a lot of fun as groups and had a fantastic time!!!

I was a leader for one of the camp groups and my groups name was the Responsiblez. Overall my group came second at the end of camp. We were very delighted with the result and were rewarded with very satisfying prizes.

During camp we had some very interesting activities. We had activities such as kayaking, Australian Indigenous games with our Australian teacher (Mr Harris), a cool organization called “Rock Up” came along and gave us a really great time. But my favourite activity would have to be the activities we did with Mr.Barks. His activity was challenging and all about team building. It was cool to work as a team to do some very difficult tasks.

My highlight of camp was going to Swimarama on the last day of camp. The water was perfectly cold for a very hot day, and with the diving pool and the the hydro slide open, how could it not be a highlight !!!!

At Swimarama (the last day before we were allowed to have fun) our Senior school had to first do our school swimming sports. Moses who was also in my group was taking part in the 12 year old races while I was also taking part in the races. My first race was freestyle, I was confident I could complete the race but was not sure what placing I would get................

“12 Year Old Boys freestyle” announced Mrs Nua. I hopped in the pool. I yelled ‘AAAAAHHH” the water was freezing, and the chill of the water made me shiver. With my teeth shattering in the background Ms King Yelled out “ Ready,........Set!!.........GGGGOOOOO!!!!! We raced off down the lanes kicking our legs our hardest and our arms pushing through the water. It was one spectacular race!!! In the end of the race I finished second with “The Fish” Raven finishing in first place!!!

After the other races it was time for the final of the 12 yr old boys Freestyle. I had a better idea of where I thought I would finish after the first race. Once again I hopped in the water and it still felt cold! I waited for the words. I looked straight down my lane, focused wanting to get a spot in the next swimming tournament. “GET SET,......... GO!!!”! I pushed off the wall as hard as I could, racing down the lane, my heart ready to explode. HOW EXCITING!!!! I was in second place with Raven in 1st place. I held on to second place and had grabbed a spot in the Eastern Zone Swimming tournament, YEAH!!!

I was very happy and after that we all hopped in the pool and had a lot of fun. Everyone enjoyed the day, with the hydro slide and the diving pool being very popular during the day. It was yet another awesome camp that would certainly be remembered!!!!!!!!!

I’ve told you once and now I’m telling you twice NRL is going to be a thriller!!! The Competition is going to be tough and it starts this Friday starting off with the battle of Sydney as the South Sydney Rabbitohs take on the Sydney Roosters, and right after that fiery game it will then be the battle of Queensland when the Mighty Broncos take on a new look Cowboys.

And with the Warriors playing against the Parramatta Eels it sure to be a new beginning for Rugby League at the famous Rugby ground “Eden Park”. Another big thing about Saturday is when the Saint George Dragons take on the Gold Coast, it would be interesting to see how the Dragons go in their title defence. Another big threat to this years competition are the dark horses, the Canberra Raiders, they will take there first battle up against the underdogs for this year the Sharks. The Sharks have brought a big name to the team in Kiwi enforcer Jeremy Smith, he brings the skill and strength to a team that already have a big pack.

And the last last game of the round will finish off with two teams who are expected to do some big things this year in the competition, my team the Tigers take on a new look Bulldogs. Big things are expected for the Tigers, with versatile Fullback and halfback Tim Moltzen returning and everybody looking like their going to hit the peak of there careers, it’s sure to be packed full of points, big hits, emotion and revenge!!!! HERE WE GO AGAIN, BRING ON NRL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We are ........CHAMPIONS!!!!! (Of the East)

Another chapter written in the Point England Sport history, with the Yr 8 Softball team coming out of the Eastern Zone Tournament as the Year 8 champs!!!! Just yesterday on the 1st of March the Point England intermediate Softball teams (Year 7 and 8 boys) went down to Tamaki Intermediate to challenge other schools in the area for the title of the Eastern Zone.

We (Yr 8 Boys) had six games altogether including the knock out rounds, the competition was very tough with all the schools showing such awesome performances, our first game was against St Thomas, it was a good match with all the boys having a good bat and getting a few runs, we won that game and prepared for the next match..............

The day went on and we had won 3 out of 4 games which was very helpful to us as we needed the wins to carry on into the knockout rounds. First up in the semi finals we played against the red hot Tamaki who really looked like a winning chance. We all were all ready and confident for this match, it would decide who would go to the grand final and who would fall to a sad ending.

The match began and we batted first, we began with a lot of confidence and finished off our batting with six runs scored and with an inning to spare we held out the Tamaki offence with fantastic fielding. In the end we kept Tamaki to a score of only one run!!!

The time had come for us to really redeem ourselves from last year, that year we fell one game short from the grand final. This time we played against a very determined Churchill Park school, they had knocked the favourites in the competition Bailey Road by just one run.

The game had started and we had selected to bat, we started strong and came out of the innings a lot of determination, we played hard and gave it our best and kept Churchill park to only one run.
We had come out as the champions and now we are heading to the champ of champions tournament next week on Tuesday, wish us luck!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Christchurch in a Crisis

Even more sad events are happening at this very time in Christchurch New Zealand, the earthquakes are striking once again, there are many buildings that have been destroyed by this tragic happening, but even sadder things took place, the 3 news presenters have reported that more than 60 people have died from the earthquake.

They say that there may be a lot more people that have passed away, maybe even double. But some of the Christchurch citizens are helping rescue groups to save and rescue people that have been collapsed on by buildings, some may be badly injured, some might be found unconscious, and maybe even dead.

I saw many photos and footage of some destroyed buildings, the atmosphere for those people must be horrifying, God bless those who will work through the night to save others lives.

May God be with those people who are suffering and may he guide them to their safety........................

My Favourite NRL Guy...........HAS RETIRED!!!!!!!

At first I thought it was a joke, my dad saying that my favourite superstar TANIELA TUIAKI was looking like he was going to retire, but then I just got really worried so then I checked the NRL offical website, the top head line: Tuiaki Forced to retire......”NNNOOO!!!!” I yelled in my head I was so sad and frustrated at the same time, feeling so sorry for the best winger in the world.

Him and the Tigers were a five match winning streak until they came up against the red hot Eels, that was the game of the year but tragically they lost the barnstorming winger (Tuiaki) because of an awkward tackle, he broke his ankle and never played again.

Him announcing that he is retiring is very sad to me, and very sad to all the Tigers supporters, but the Tigers are still one of the best teams in the competition, they look sure to make some real damage this year. GOOO TIGERS!!!!!!(First Game VS Bulldogs!!!)

Tech Has Started

On the second week of school (just yesterday) we went to our very first tech lesson for the year. As some of you may know we walk down to Tamaki College for our Tech lessons and come back to school at interval. When the first week of school was almost done I learnt that I was taken Electronics as my first tech subject!!! I was excited yet wondering what electronics would be like............

The next week I was ready and eager to learn new things, we walked down to Tamaki and met the teachers, my teachers name was........HE DIDN'T TELL US HIS NAME!!!!!!! Most of the time he told us about what exciting things that we could create throughout the term, sound sensor lights,automatic window closers,fan hats, lazer alarms and way more awesome things.

Next week we are going to start our actual projects and I am looking to really get into it next week. TAMAKI TECH IS AWESOME !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!a

On the second week of school (just yesterday) we went to our very first tech lesson for the year. There are a lot of things to look forward to this year, camp,sports,our new netbooks!! And so much more..........

One of the many things that I have mentioned that I am really looking forward to using this year are our Netbooks!!! Last year my class had the chance to learn with these wonderful learning tools as part of our learning experience, it was certainly a excellent experience that I am looking forward to doing again.

Another thing that I am looking forward to this year is participating in as many sporting events as I can, I am slowly learning that Point England do some real damage in the sport this year with the new Year 6’s being the reigning champs of rugby and our new Year 8’s being the Rugby League Eastern Zone champs this could be a very big year for Point England Sport.............

Tech was also a fun experience for me, especially cooking, I loved cooking different things each week ,money bags,pizza,chocolate Fudge,combination chowmein, just some of the many delicious things we made last year!! It is also cool seeing that you can cook meals for your family and friends. Cooking has always been a thing that I would love to do as part of my learning.

All those things make this year very exciting, I just hope that it will be one awesome year!!!.................

Christmas Almost Here!!!

Market Day Reflection

“YES!!!” I yelled our Point England market day had arrived we were excited an ready to go for the day. Our product that we were selling for the day were Bug Shakes (Milkshakes) and we were confident that our product was going to be a sell out!!!While the day was hot and the market day on we were sure we would gain a lot of money from the milkshakes.

We had three different flavours which were Scary Berry(Strawberry) Bugs In Mud (Chocolate) Butterfly Delight (Tropical). Our price for one large cup was $2.00 and we had a special, 2 for $3.00. We had loads of orders pre ordered by the way which meant that we had to get busy!!!

With customers surrounding our stand and people thirsty we had to work as fast as we possibly could. The favourite (Milkshake) was bugs in mud while butterfly delight and scary berry were also being ordered often. At the end our stall was all sold out raising close to $200!!!!!!!!!

At the end of the day we were happy with ourselves selling most of our products in the day. I really liked Market day and am hopefull that we will have more events like this soon...............Click on the link to watch how our market day went...........

The countdown begins for the big day, the day when the top athletes of our intermediate take part in school participate in a big Eastern Zone Athletics competition, ATHLETICS!!!!!!!!

Even though I came third in the sprint races I was still chosen to participate in the following
events, Long Jump,200 metres and the sprint relays, boy I already nervous and the athletics is on Wednesday!!!

I am pretty excited to be in these events, it is going to be tough competition with students getting faster every year and more schools entering it is one heck of a competition. Hopefully later on in the week, I will give you some results on the athletics day!!!

Devastating Event Takes Place In The Pike River.....

A week of despair and anger has struck New Zealand with miners being trapped and killed under the toxic river "The Pike River" 29 miners to be exact, families were crushed by the news of the incident, many New Zealanders feel for this family and are also very sad about this incident.

Mine experts suspect that it will take a long time to recover all 29 bodys that were killed in the mind of the Pike river. May the lord help the families of the miners and may he please guide them through this time of despair............

Today our schools top athletes are going up against other schools around the area, this competition is taken very seriously, with some very fast runners and some very strong throwers. This athletics day is sure to be very entertaining for those who are spectating!!!

Many schools around the area will compete for the title of the most athletic school in the Tamaki area such as Glen Brae,Ruapotoka,Panmure Bridge and Saint Pius. The event will go on for most of the day, I am hopeful that I can bring you back some results to share with you...........

Today was a day that most of us had been waiting for, a day which would decide who was the fastest and who was the strongest. Yes, it was time for our school Athletics!!!

Coming into today I was not confident that I would get a place in the sports we participated in. Unfortunately I was right, not coming anything in any of the sports so far, but there was still one chance left, we had sprints for our final event and I really needed a place in this one. As I raced in the heats I made it into the finals. The finals for the sprints were after lunch and I was boisterously waiting to start the races.

As the younger ones had their races shocks of excitement went through my body, I could feel the adrenaline rise as the seconds went past. Suddenly I heard “12 year old boys please report to the racing tracks to get ready for your race”. Take your marks get set...................BANG!!!!!!! We were off we sprinted down the track as fast as we could, the race was close to the end I gave it all I had....YES!!! I came third in cheer I was proud of the result.........

WHAT AN EXPERIENCE!!! I NEVER THOUGHT THAT THIS DAY WOULD BE REALITY!!!

Just yesterday all of our year 7's had a received a netbook EACH!!!!

We are the first in the cluster of schools (Manaiakalani) to receive, while everyone gets there netbooks next year we get to use and test them out for the next four weeks.

We have really had a fun time with these amazing pieces of technology. Here's a photo I took of myself with one of the applications on the netbook!!!! ( HULK EFECT!!! )

SUPER KIWIS PUT ON THE MAGIC TOUCH IN THE LAST MINUTE!!!!!!!!!

WHAT A GAME!!!!! It left me breathing heavily, knowing that the Kiwis had won the game in the last seconds. The whole team had produced a huge effort after trying to get themselves out of that hole they dug last week.This game had it all, the big hits, brilliance shear heart and guts boy, what a game.

The Kiwis had managed to win the game with a miracle try with the final score being 12-16. The Aussies had dominated the first half scoring first in just the sixth minute. But with the Kiwis managing to hold on and stay in the hunt surprisingly the scores were tied with the Kiwis at six all.

The second half was absolutely classic, with the Australians scoring a try making it 12-6 leaving the Kiwis behind by six. Playing one of his best games ever, miracle Marshall (Benji Marshall) had brought the Kiwis right back into the game with one of the best ever grubbers set up for a winger. With the conversion meaning a lot at this point of time Marshall had slightly pushed it out and it had hit the post!!!!!! The score remained at 10-12 to the Aussies.

Their were only two minutes one and a half minutes left and the Kiwis were on the there on try line!!! Good runs by the Kiwis forwards pushed them up to the forty metre mark. It was the fifth and last tackle they gave it to the right with Marshall dummying the ball and then giving a gliding ball straight into the hands of Shaun Kenny Dowall, Kenny Dowall held onto the ball long enough to draw the winger in then giving the ball to Mr. Reliable Jason Nightingale who tip toed down thew side line then chucking the ball back inside for Marshall to catch then Marshall offloaded back into the the hands of Nathan Fien to score what would be the winning try!!!!!! YYYYYYYEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WHAT A GAME THE KIWIS WERE NOW THE FOUR NATIONS CHAMPIONS AND THE WORLD CHAMPIONS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Kiwis Crumble, Aussies Rumble COME ON KIWIS!!!

Sadly the New Zealand Kiwis were defeated by the B team Australians. The Kiwis had created their own hype earlier this week coming into the game, but unfortunately they were stopped and lost the game 20-34.

As the game went on the crowd of Eden park (I was at the game) erupted in anger, throwing plastic bottles onto the field because of the Kiwis disappointing performance.
I thought that the Kiwis were bamboozled by the Aussies. The Aussies showed that they had a lot to offer through their plays and continued to dominate their way down the field to score a bunch of tries and take the game away from the Kiwis.

The Kiwis have one week to pick themselves up and get ready for the final against Australia.

COME ON KIWIS I BELIEVEEEEEE!!!!!!!!

A Day I'll Will Never Forget.......

A day of excitement, an unbelievable day boy, how lucky were we getting to meet the TOP LEAGUE PLAYERS IN THE WORLD!!!!!!Seeing the Four Nations (New Zealand, Australia, England, Papa New Guinea) walk out onto the field of Eden Park ready to play with young Kiwi kids was a dream come true.

Part of this spectacular day was getting to play with the League Stars, a goal that I would like to achieve in the future! We took part in some activities with some of my favourite stars, Robbie Farah, Lote Tuquri, Chris Lawrence and way more. It was so cool also getting to talk to the stars and to get photos with them, was another dream that was fufilled.

What an awesome day it was, I'll never forget that day, and I'll treasure it forever.........

Term 4 Is Here!!

Coming back to school? I wasn’t sure I wanted to. I had a great holiday, but it was unfortunetly only for two weeks.

When the bell rang the class walked into the school hall (That is now officially extended!!) wondering what interesting topic we would be studying this term (Our Last term for the year)?????? Everyone was a bit blank and confused, looking around seeing teachers dressed up up as insects and bugs. Moments later we were introduced to the topic with a mosquito like Mr.Burt, the new topic was called “Little Critters.

All of the teachers put on some great acts talking to us about some facts that we would know soon enough. We all had a laugh and enjoyed it knowing this was going to be a great topic to study for this term!!!

Commonwealth Games Off To A Blazing Start!!

What a fiery start to the Commonwealth games with New Zealand winning a truck load of 17 Silver Medals along with 2 Gold Medals and 6 bronze medals.

The sport that I have really enjoyed watching so far is weightlifting. Just recently the island of Samoa have managed to win 3 gold medals all from Weightlifting which have all been won this weekend. Another amazing thing about this is that the people that won were all family. The surname is Opeloge with brother and sister Ele and Niusila managed to win by a long shot.

Watching these athletes compete in the games is amazing, seeing the best athletes in the world competing is something you do not want to miss!!

Just Last Term the kids of Point England produced a fantastic show with dance performances and singing. There were a lot of groups, they were all fantastic by the way.

The groups that I participated in were the Samoan group and the Kapa Haka group (Tangi Wai).

I loved the experience and I am hopeful that we can do it again. Here are some highlights from that wonderful night.

Tigers Set For The Clash Of The Year (My Guess)

After holding on to beat the Canberra Raiders 26-24 in an absolute epic injury crisis the Tigers are to fight a Strong St George Dragons to get to the big one (The Grand Final).

This is set to be one of the biggest clashes all year. Memories are flowing back for Dragons fans who lost the exact same match in 2005 in an absolute thriller with the Tigers winning that game 20-12. That was when magic man Benji Marshall was at the top of his magical career, But I know that Benji can do the same as he did back then because HE'S BENJI!!!

Game analyser Phil Gould is right that this is the clash that we have all been waiting for. All week the Tigers have been saying the pressure is all on the Dragons to win the game and I am hopeful that the Tigers can use that pressure to put them away once again.

My guess is that Tigers can take the game, With the pressure rising on the Dragons and the Tigers looking like the underdogs hopefully they can use this position as an advantage to take the Dragons down. The game is at 9:30pm on Saturday this week I BELIEVE!!!!!!!!!!

Tigers Live Another Day

Just recently on Saturday the Tigers went down to lose a heart breaking match against a sneaky Sydney Roosters. Winning that game would have sent the Tigers straight to the game where if you won it your in the Grand Final but unfortunately we lost in an absolute thriller losing 19-15.

The tragic things are that there are some huge names that are out injured, with Benji, Gareth Ellis and Liam Fulton all out (All who are key players in the team)!!!! They are in for one heck of a ride playing the red hot Raiders on Friday!!! The Raiders have managed to defeat the second placed Panthers 24-22.

I am really concerned with the injuries that we have but I am hopeful that Tim Sheens (Master Mind Coach) knows what to do with what he's got. COME ON TIGERS IT'S DO OR DIE!!!!!!!!!!!

NFL Team The Mennisota Vikings

As you may know I love the NRL team the West Tigers but I also have another team which plays in the NFL which is also know as the National Football League, The Minnesota Vikings. They have played three games this season and have managed to win two of them, their most recent game was against the Denver Broncos 31-24.

My favourite player from their team is monstrous Running Back Adrien Peterson. He has scored eighteen tries since he has been in the NFL. He is a very strong powerful runner who is also very speedy. He has a rival in the Tennesse Titans and his name is Chris Jonhson. He also has big expectations this year.

The Vikings have high expectations that I know that they can fill. They are playing the Saints who are in form this will be a good game. GO VIKINGS!!!

Tigers Charge Towards First Semi

Failing to beat the Gold Coast Titans the Tigers finished third after the Panthers thrashed the Cronulla Sharks 50-12. Winning would have given the Warriors a chance to make the top four and hopefully get a home semi final!(My dad has season tickets).

Now that the Tigers have finished third they are forced to play the sixth placed Sydney Roosters. This will be a tough match for the Tigers as they have struggled against them in the regular season, losing both times against them will be hard to overcome, but I believe if we play to the best of our abilities we will win the game easily. But I think that the key to playing these games is to keep cool and wait for the right time to strike.

The West Tiger will play there game at the Sydney Football Stadium on Saturday this week.

P.E Survive First Knock Out Round

Just last week on a wet Friday afternoon a shell shocked Tamaki Intermediate were defeated by a determined Point England side losing 29-7. We played with a lot of heart and courage and were able to thrash them on the score board.

The amazing thing about this game was that we had not trained or played together for 3-4 weeks!!! Another thing was that Tamaki were high in the rankings for this years championship school Competition.

At the beginning of the game we were forced to defend our area and came out successful, forcing them to knock it on just before the line. Luckily we were powerful enough to get to the other side of the field with Raven able to score in the corner making it 5-0!! Not long after Tamaki kicked it off to us and I caught the ball and ran towards the line BOOM!! I broke the line and was off!! Unfortunately I was caught 20 short of the line and my team was right behind me. Taking runs from the ruck our first five Jonty called a move. Running my hardest I crashed over the line and scored, YYYYYEEEEAAAAHHHHH!!!!! The crowd of students roared converting the try Raven made it 12-0.

Secretly Tamaki had a secret weapon waiting on the bench. He was a monstrous forward who is currently playing for my league team (Mount Wellington Warriors), VINCENT!!!! After we had scored two tries their Weapon (Vincent) had just come on to the field. It was Tamaki’s ball, we formed a scrum kind of knowing that Vincent was going to take it from the back of the ruck. So I yelled out “WATCH VINCENT!!!” Though our team knew he was running he still managed to make a barnstorming run down the right side surging through our defense. Luckily we were able catch up to him and slow him down, he seemed unstoppable until our Number.8 Junior went flying into the air and crashed landed on Vincent who was finally put on the ground. Then again our determined team were able to make it to the opposition try line with another try to me!!

After that we had scored two more marvellous tries with Feki intercepting the ball to race 60 m for a try and Prop Semiliu crashing over from close range to make the final score 29-7.

Well done boys for playing such a game, hopefully we can do the same in the next game!!!

M.I Test Result

Just recently we have taken an M.I test to see what our smarts were. I think that my M.I test result is Ideal and truthful. Although I was hopeful for high rankings in some of the smarts such as Logical it just comes to show I need to work harder!!

Tigers Secure first finals spot since"05"

Gracefully my team (West Tigers) have surely made the the cut for September footy. Winning against the Panthers last week (43-18) gave them a huge boost towards the end of the season giving them a top three spot! Having a really tough run home the Tigers have won four of their last six!! Though having disappointing defeats they have managed to pick up the scraps and have charged towards the finals.

The young guns in Andrew Fifita, Blake Ashyford and Robert Lui have really stepped up through the past month and have filled in the roles of others really well. The Tigers will be lurking for a top two spot in a race against the Titans.

Basketball Trials, Did I make It???

Today I am finding out if I made the Basketball team or not, We had a trial last week and boy what a trial it was, some good shots, rebounds and intercepts. We went down to play at our local College
Tamaki College. They had A REC Centre there and we played on the Basketball court.

We split up into four teams and two teams would play a game and then another two teams would play. I think our team had the advantage of height and power, the team that we were up against had the advantage of speed and agility.

After the game we had defeated the other team 14-2 which I think is a hiding, I was very impressed with myself.

I will give you an update on if I made the team.

Can Tigers Stay In The Top Four???

The most exciting attacking team and my personal favourite team in the NRL (The West Tigers) have been winning ugly for the past month and have been lucky enough to stay in the top three. After the Parramatta Eels came from behind and put the Second placed Panthers to the Sword the Tigers had a chance to leap into second, But that was only if they beat the in form Manly Sea Eagles, Unfortunately the Tigers failed to take u a golden opportunity and forced to lose 38-20.

After that game the Roosters had a chance to leap into third with the points differential meaning a lot these days. It was Monday Night footy and the Roosters were taking on a Strong Brisbane Broncos. After a thriller of a game the Roosters hung on to win 34-30 with Kiwi Veteran Shaun Kenny Dowall scoring four tries. After that game the Tigers droped to fourth and the Roosters jumped into third.

Term Three Off To A Blazing Start!!!

Another term meant another topic and boy what a topic it is. It happens to be term 3 which is quite extraordinary because this has been a super fast year. But as they say time flies when your having fun!! This term is called "Mighty Mariners". It has a lot to do with ancient history between Pirates and Vikings,

All of our teachers came dressed like real ancient history up close, There costumes added that extra bit of excitement to the Assembly. Many teachers came as Vikings and Pirates and some came as the people who had found New Zealand! Each team had a performance
that excited the crowd. My personal favourite was the Pirate thief and explorer great Captain Cook!

With all the great preparation and a great motivation this sure to be a super term!!! MIGHTY MARINERS!!!!!!

Holidays are here

Gleefully the holidays are here, I am in school right now counting down for the "Big Break". I have desperately needed this break as we have have been super busy throughout these past few weeks.

Right now, I'm looking at getting a bit of a rest. Sleeping in would be a great relaxation in the morning. It would also be a good time to hang out with my family out South and have a bit of fun.

There is so much to think about but I am just glad that the Holidays is here. HAPPY HOLIDAYS!!!!

Hours away of knowing the result of the All Whites Fate is really getting to my head. It is quite exciting to know that New Zealand have a chance of making the second round. Watching a show on Sky Sport two that is called "In South Africa", it is quite an interesting watching this show. It has a bus of of tourist there for the world cup. They've just finished soccer with the locals. It gives a perfect build up to a game of the Soccer World Cup. The All Whites are going to give the Paraguay people a good run for their money surely, ALLLLLL WHIIIIIITES!!!!!!!!! 1.30am - will you be there?

A time that will be remembered in our lives forever, kiwi kids making space in their living rooms to play soccer with tennis balls, soccer balls being kicked all over school fields up and down the country, it's soccer fever!

What a result for the All Whites coming out of the pool drawing both of there games against way higher ranked teams in the world. But highlight of the tournament was the All Whites drawing with one of the top five teams of the world!!!! The All whites have finally come to there peak, They're........THE NEW BEGINNING!!!!!!

The All Whites are succesfully coming second equal with the reigning Fifa world Cup champions Italy and in first place is Paraguay. The All Whites will surely make the second round if they win against them, but if we draw it could get a bit rough. Be a real Kiwi and watch the All Whites at 1.30 am, GO THE ALL WHITES!!!!!!

Yesterday was a day when we took our physical sports to another level. Our year seven

boys (including me) had just come back from pure Rugby. It was a probably a day we would never forget.

We went into the battle zone without the confidence that we usually have in ourselves.

We were surely the Underdogs in the competition. Although we only had Year sevens in our team we did really well.

We came across some fearsome teams in Tamaki Intermediate, Sacred Heart School, Bailey Road and Sylvia Park. Our first game was a cracker...! as we unbelievably drew with the fearsome Tamaki Intermediate.

Secondly we clashed with a huge Sacred Heart team who unfortunately were more organised and a bit too powerful through the outside backs. We went through two more games with a lot more Spirit and confidence against Bailey Road and Sylvia Park.

After a long day of Rugby we were successful and made the Semi finals. We came up against a monstrous Sacred Heart and were sadly defeated. But we had played picked on confidence and spirit. Next time we'll be ready...........

Tigers Fury Turns Into Beauty!!!

The most unpredictable team in the NRL (West Tigers) have won three games in a row.

Winning against the Knights first 23-6. Then a memorable thrashing against the New Zealand Warriors 50-6, and now winning against a determined Canterbury Bankstown 19-12.

With the Tigers needing to win this game they executed their game but in a very sloppy way. The Tigers heading in to a bye will get two free points which will give them a bit of a break.

The Tigers are looking to play some new signed players in Big Tame Tupou and silent but deadly Arana Taumata. Both of these players coming back from disappointing injuries which have held them back from NRL glory. Tame Tupou making good progress after just getting back onto the training paddock. And the heroic Keith Galloway will soon be back, while Blake Ashyford looks ready to go.

With the Tigers heading into the bye they will be playing the Canberra Raiders in round fifteen. And then two big weeks after playing against the Raiders, they will play the Dragons and the Brisbane Broncos. GO THE TIGERS!!!!!!!

Tigers Back On Track While Crushing Warriors

West Tigers starting a thrilling week of NRL won against the Warriors 50-6 WHAT A SCORE!!! In the beginning it was a bit nervous watching the Warriors play, They had won two games against the messy Cowboys, And against the in form Rabbitohs. The thought of the Warriors winning against the Rabbitohs and the Tigers just coming back from one victory really occurred to me that this would be a game to remember!

Even though in did not turn out the way I thought it would it was still a game to remember with the Tigers razzling the dazzle winning by quite a good margin.

New coming centre Geoff Daniela had a spectacular game scoring three entertaining tries while having a blister of a game.

Hope that the Tigers will make it three in a row against the Bulldogs GO THE TIGERS!!!!!

Tigers Back On Track, Warriors On Fire

The West Tigers have successfully broken there four game losing streak by taming the Newcastle Knights to win 23-6. While celebrating the victory the Warriors overcame a confident South Sydney Rabbitohs wining an absolute thriller 26-24. Both teams from this weekend have gained a lot of confidence in themselves and are looking to continue being victorious as they go head to head.This will be a good match as it has been an annual big battle. Hope the Tigers thrash the Warriors GO TIGERS!!!!!

Tigers:That Time Of THE Year

My favourite NRL Team the West Tigers have had four disappointing weeks of losing.They have not played as well as they can losing to the Rabbits a big 10-50 score. They are putting to much pressure on them selves by making pitifully mistakes by dropping the ball while trying to develop trys. They are now coming in ninth in the competition behind the Warriors. They need to do something before it is to late for them. There play makers in Benji and Farah need to step up by showing them the way to a few victories.

Magic Coach Tim Sheens will surely be setting up a tough training this week for the Tigers. The boys need to think of the positives of there season and turn it around while they still can. I believe that they can do anything if they play to there best in the next part of this season.

There next game is against the Newcastle Knights on Friday night. I hope they will get there confidence back from this game. GO THE TIGERS!!!!!!!!!

Yr7 Rugby: Never Give Up

Point England played their first ever intermediate match with Year seven boys in our history. We played against St Marys. We had quite a rough game. They had some huge boys who caused a problem for our team, but we managed to make some spectacular tackles which gave us a bit of pride in ourselves. We gave it a certain amount of an effort but it wasn't enough to take down the big boys. But we did manage to make a movie of our fantastic highlights. Take a look!!

Kiwis:Almost There Boys

The Kiwi Jersey brought an unexpected attitude to the game. They played a lot better than expected and could of drawn but lost to the Australians 8-12. The young pack of Kiwis played with loads of momentum and had the Aussies on there feet for quite a while. Debutant Zeb Taia had a good game for a start. He made a few yards and gave them a few offloads.

The Kiwis were well in the game throughout the opening half but the score went to the Australians 6-0. But through the beginning of the second half the Australians ran in a try for Dragon Winger Brett Morris which gave him two tries for the night. With ten minutes on the clock the Kiwis had to do something. So a Kiwis move and a perfect execution from Lance Hohaia gave Dragons right side Winger Jason Nightingale a try in the corner. Rabbitohs superstar hooker Issac Luke missed the kick from out wide and the score remained 12-4.

With five minutes left the Kiwis sent Junior Sau over the line with his incredible strength. Once again Issac Luke missed the conversion and the game seemed like it was over with the score 8 to 12. In the end the Kiwis played a really good game losing by 4 points this was only because of conversions.

Kiwis Squad:Where's The Power?

After watching the League show 40/20 I was a bit, in fact, hugely shocked on the selection of the New Zealand Kiwis to take on the fearsome Australians. Before I saw the selection I asked my dad "Do you think the Kiwis will win against Australia?" Not surprisingly he said "Yes". I asked him why New Zealand would have the upper hand on this. He said they would win because we have the forward pack. I thought for a minute and he was right. We got Moimoi,Pritchard,Blair,Lima and Bronson Harrison. That really would have made the difference to the game on Friday because the only exceptional Prop from Australia would Petero Civinacioeva. But to my surprise Moimoi and Jeff Lima were not selected. Stephen Kearney has probably left out one of the most Dynamic Props in the game right now.

Big Deal:You Spoke To The Mayor Of Auckland

It was one extraordinary day, You know why? I got up close and personal to the MAYOR OF AUCKLAND!!!

THE Mayors name was John Banks. He came to our school to talk about some issues that we have here at our school. Helen Tui and Paulitia introduced him to our school and brought him into the room where we normally have our meetings. As soon as he came into the room our presenting team started to present.

I was a bit nervous when it was my turn but once I settled into my speech I was comfortable to talk. After we finished our presentation we sat down and had a korero with the Mayor. We gave him a presentation on how our changing rooms at our local beach are always locked. We also talked to him in depth about the cost of our local pools and how we could solve the problem.

He was very impressed with the way we showed him our presentation.

He started talking, but the thing I was most interested in was when he said "I could easily go back to my office, take these papers and get to the bottom of this," But! "I'm going to make you guys speak for yourselves! It was quite cool to know that John Banks knew that we could speak for ourselves!! He then said " First you're going to make a presentation for the Community Board" "WOW!!!" I thought in my head. But if that doesn't work out then your going to make another presentation for the AUCKLAND City Council. That was so cool to know!!!

"I'm sending you on a journey" is what he said to us. When I thought about what we had just accomplished. It seemed like we had done we had done a good job. I can't wait for what lies ahead for the future of our school

Storm Result: We Show NO Mercy

The Storm came into the match with a furious strike showing that the incident had no part of their emotions in the thrashing against the Warriors. The ending score was 40-6! The Warriors played the role of sitting duck's. The Storm sent the Warriors under the pump through out the whole game.

Some of the Storm players were a bit dirty, starting scraps, causing arguments and people getting on report. The Storm fired with thunder forgetting what had happened. Warriors fill in Captain Micheal Luck was deeply considering trouble maker Brett White as a nasty little man. White was quite disturbing to the Warriors Captain gave him a piece of his mind chucking in a few blows before team mates stopped him. The Warriors only try went to the Tongan Powerhouse Ukuma Ta'ai. Ukuma took a bit of anger off his shoulders chucking the ball at Billy Slater's head which caused a bit of grief between the to teams. It was a fantastic display of footy by the Storm , they have to keep playing like that if they want to get through this season.....GO THE TIGERS!!!!!!!!!

Storm: Lost In The Clouds

The magnificent NRL Melbourne Storm have been devastated to know that they have been stripped of two premiership titles, 3 minor Priemierships. And are as good as disqualified because they will be stripped of all their Competition points of this season. This all came from a sneaky staff member of the Storm. They were busted for cheating with their Salary Cap over paying their stars so they could keep their stars interested in there team.

You might be thinking "Why is this bad?". Well it is quite simple, it is because you have a particular amount of money

to spend on your players, What the Storm did was they spent too much money on their players so that they could put together a super team. The reason they have a budget to stick to is that every team has an even chance at the upcoming season.

The Storm have been doing this for quite a while now and that's why they have been stripped of so much that they won. The funny thing is the Warriors are playing them tonight, it will be great to see how the Storm will turn up. Will they fire up?, Or will they fail.....WATCH THE GAME TONIGHT!!!! (Sunday 25th April) GO THE TIGERS!!!

Tuakana Teina

This year the yr 7's are doing a new activitie. While some of us are in music some of us are in a new thing we call " Tuakana Teina". We are helping new entrants kid's with there Elearning (Computer Work). We go into classes between room 1-7.

It is cool to work with little kids. Our aim is to help kids learn how to use Computers properly. I was working with one kid and he was really good at drawing for his age. You might be able to see some of there blogs. Maybe you could go to Room One Rock Stars. Tuakana Teina is so cool!!!

VICTORY IS SWEET

Both the Tigers and the Warriors had terrific games. With the Tigers making a big upset 23-12 and the Warriors soaring past the Broncos and winning 48-16. Both teams played superb football outdoing there opposition.

It was the first game of last week between Tigers and the Eels. This I knew was going to be a fearsome yet heart breaking match. The teams looked precise and ready for action. They ran and out of the tunnel came the sleek men of the Eels. Then came out the champs of 2005 and yet to win 2010,...... the Tigers!!

The game had begun and the Eels kicked off. It was intense set of plays with great ball running and rough defence. Versatile winger Lote Tuquri scored a spectacular try which was given to him by a terrific Benji Marshall grubber. Marshall attempted the kick from out wide but missed slightly and the score remained 4-0. The Eels gained some very helpful position but they failed to turn the position into points. The Tigers then gained perfect position after Eels backrower Ben Smith made a late shot on Tigers Loose forward Chris Heighton. Tigers were near finishing there set , Fill in half back Tim Moltzen grubbered the ball into the goal line and centre Blake Ashyford touched down for a another try and made the score 8-0. At the end of the half with nobody looking Marshall hit a sweet drop goal superbly, It went right over the black dot. At half time the score was 9-0 to the TIGERS!!! The game went on and the second half started the Eels scored two hopeful trys but it wasn't enough as the Tigers dominated and won the game 23-12.

Camp Kindness Was KIND!!!!!!!

WWWOOOOOWWW!!!! THAT WAS KIND!!!!!! I was absolutely stunned about how awesome this Camp was. It was so cool to try new activities that we had seen on TV. Say for example a Dunking Tank was available (Quite scary), Archery was also available and my favourite activity, : Log Jousting. Log Jousting was my favourite activity because it was quite an aggressive game but a lot of us got stuck into it. There were some pretty intense battles but only the best came out on top. I had a rival ready to battle and he was: Semiliu. an evil glare looking like he wanted to beat me to the death. After a while Semiliu and I decided to fight for the first time. We picked up our shields and our weapon, we put on our head gear and were ready for a fearsome battle. We both climbed up a stilt and stood on the log. ''Fighters are you ready?" is what the rock up instructor said. "YES!!!" We screamed back. "Fighters touch shields" (She said this for sportsmanship), we touched shield with roughness. FIIIGGGHHHTTT!!!!!!! We started THE FIGHT and we started laying on the big blows. Semiliu was slashing his weapon across my shoulders, pain was about to hurt my shoulder so I decided to attack, I swung my weapon and it clashed with his hip, it made him wobble. I saw this as a chance to take him down, so I then I prepared my weapon and struck!!!! SMACK!!!! Semiliu went flying to the ground and it was 1-0 to me. The second round was about to begin "FIGHT".......SMACK,BANG,WACK,POW!!!

This was intense match and the referee decided to give the victory to Semiliu. This was the third and final round. We stood up on the log waiting for the signal. But before the fight began I came up with a plan. "FIGHT!!!" SMACK!!!! As planned Semiilu was going for all the heavy blows, he was to busy attacking then defending. So when he was tired and the time was right I targeted his legs. "SMACK!!!" IT WAS VICTORY FOR THE CONSIDERATORS!!!!!!!!!!!!! (My team!)

Warriors Beat Sharks To The Death! West Tigers Fail

WOW!! The Warriors have taken there first victory away to give them there first points of the NRL season, as for my team the Tigers, they lost unfortunately lost to the Roosters 44-32.

The Warriors played there first home game and won against the Cronulla Sharks 30-16. The BEAST Manu Vatuvei scored a monstrous three tries which gave the Warriors the victory. Both teams played a fair bit of footy, playing with the ball trying to steel some points. It was Malone scoring first for the Warriors giving them a bit of confidence to keep that momentum going. Then it was Manu's time to shine as he scored one of his three tries. The game went on and the Warriors were in a comfortable position leading by more than 10 points. New hooker Aaron Heremaia scored a good try and put them in a good position. Also big Kiwi prop Sam Rapira scored by barging over the line right under the post.

The Tigers threw away a win while giving the victory to the versatile side "The Sydney Roosters". The Tigers dominated the opening minutes by scoring two wonderful tries in only thirteen minutes. Benji Marshall scored the first try going swiftly threw the defence and scored in the best possible place "under the post. Marshall then converted and it became 6-0. The Roosters had just kicked the ball and the Tigers retrieved it. Star Hooker Robbie Farah then drew in a payer and popped the ball to new recruit Mark Flanagan. Flanagan ran with the ball threw a terrific dummy and sprinted as fast as he could. Behind him was winger Sam Perret. Flanagan then offloaded to Lote Tuquri. Lote Tuquri sprinted seventy metres to score a terrific try. Marshall converted and the score became 12-0. From then on the Roosters took over and eventually at half time the score was 20-12.

In the second half the Roosters had already won pouring on a huge 24 points. But the Tigers added a few constilation tries making the full time score 32-44. The Tigers next game is on Friday night, against the fearsome Paramatta Eels. GO THE TIGERS!!!!

CAMP THIS WEEK!!!!!

"MAN!!" The year has gone super fast in fact, it's already time for CAMP!!! This year our theme for camp is:Kindness. So this year our Camp is called Camp Kindness. It is going to be different to all the other camps that we have been on. Mrs Nua (Our Teacher) said that we would be doing different things to the year five and sixes. It was very exciting to hear that.

I am a leader for my group, our group's name is ,"Considerators", our group (Considerators) got together and made a chant. We were very cooperative and got used to being a group. We had to choose a song from a lucky dip because instead of performing on the concert night we would have to make a MTV from a song, But the thing about it was that it had to be a New Zealand based song. So I went up and chose a song out of a hat. The song was called "Waka" I have no idea what the song is but I'll learn it through camp. CAMP STARTS TOMOORROW!!!!!!!!!! CONSIDERATORS!!!!
