Just last week our school League team went down to Cornwall park to challenge for the best school in Auckland at Rugby League. I was very excited about this and couldn't wait to go. I was confident that our team could go all the way, we had the right mix of fitness, speed and strength.
We already knew that this tournament would be nowhere near easy for us. We would have to dig deep and give all of the matches our best effort. We were put into a tough pool, with the big guns and reigning champions De La Salle College, a big team in Wesley College and the unknown Rosmini College. We were in for a tough ride if we wanted to make the semi finals.
We played to our potential and won all three matches, we were quite excited to be in the Semis and were prepared to go one step further. We were up against a fast moving Kedgley Intermediate.
We were unfortunate to lose by a try in extra time. I was quite stunned by the result seeing as it was the last time that we would be playing together as brothers, other than that I had an awesome time competing against other school. I just can’t wait until next year...

Oh That is tough losing by a try in extra time. So will I be seeing you play for your country one day. Thank you for sharing your story.
Well it has been a hectic term and year of sports for you and the rest of the boys Dan! You should all keep your heads up and be extremely proud of your efforts. You have represented the school with passion, pride and dignity throughout your time there. Your achievements on the field have brought honour and glory to yourself, your teammates, your school and to our Lord! Not to mention a swag of silverware over the years! It’s sad thinking that you have represented Pt England School in footy for the last time. I well remember the first time you donned the red and black and played as a year 4 student way back in 2007 in the senior rugby league. Representing the premier rugby and league teams for your school for 5 years is an amazing feat in itself! Although one door closes, another will open and I look forward to seeing what the next 5 years has in store for you and for us. Malo le tauivi Tanielu! Love, Dad.
Well done Tanielu! And to all the boys too on a great job representing our school. You've all come a long way. I was wondering what had happened at your tournament and it was good to read about it on your blog. I wish you all the best of luck with you sport and will no doubt see you playing internationally.
